On March 6th my mother was transported to Mother Frances Hospital by Emergency Medical Services where I later found out that she had a heart attack. The next morning she had emergency heart surgery. My mother stayed a total of six days in the hospital. Everyone on the floor was wonderful and took good care of her but on the last day of her stay she was frustrated and was starting to be very emotional. Gary came in and talked with my mom, letting her know that he had gone through the same surgery and everything would be alright if she would learn to change her diet and take her medicines like the physician requested. It really touched me and my family to watch him sit and talk with my mom showing so much compassion. He didn't stop there but also showed her the scar from his procedure. That is when she believed him by realizing that they had something in common. My mom stopped crying thanked him for talking with her and gave him a hug. I am so grateful that we have wonderful nurses at Trinity Mother Frances who can take the time to talk to their patients and show them that they truly care. Gary went above and beyond the call of duty to make my mom feel special and put a smile on her face.

Thank you, Gary, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
