I feel like my unit 10E was very welcoming and accommodating to me as a nurse extern. From day one Gary was awesome. He took his time at showing me various skills and never made me feel that any questions were a dumb question. He challenged me to rise to the occasion when it came to various patients diagnosis to research what these diagnosed were and how this would effect the patient holistically. He was an awesome teacher. He broke down many of the procedure and explained why various S&S are important to assess. Everyone on and off the unit paid gave high regards to Gary.

I feel privileged to have work with such an awesome and highly regarded nurse. He made full honor to become a nurse and he is an example of what magnet employees are. This unit makes you want to work at Emory because of the chemistry and the teamwork that they display. I appreciate the wonderful opportunity and I know it has provided a great contribution to the foundation of my learning journey as a future R.N.

The patient was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and admitted in the hospital more than 20 times. The patient had the opportunity to get to know quite a few nurses and doctors on both a professional level as well as a personal level. During the stay the patient was fortunate enough to meet and get to know Gary. He was the nurse majority of the stay. He was very professional yet personal. He took the time to get to know me and anticipated my every special need. That meant so much to me and my family. Gary was a very knowledgeable, sweet, caring person. Gary has gone above and beyond his job duties. He listened to the troubles, fears, and talked through them. Gary should be recognized in some way for the wonderful person that he is.
