One patient with a smiling face once said, "Oh, here comes the singing nurse.” Yes, she sings to the patients, and at times, she makes them sing along with her. Gemma makes the unit lively and positive. Her positive attitude and liveliness are contagious.
She is one of our charge nurses and she's the best charge nurse and she goes above and beyond, like helping everyone IF they need help, like passing meds. She is the best and deserves to get the DAISY Award.

Gemma always makes sure that our floor is fully staffed, she does this on her own time because she cares about our unit and patients. During the pandemic, Gemma worked almost daily, picking up shifts so that our unit would not be short. Gemma is an amazing nurse and all of our patients love her.

Gemma not only is an excellent team player as a Charge Nurse, but her heart is pure. Always bringing so much joy each and everyday she comes to work. She truly is a beautiful spirit. She is always going above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our unit is fully staffed. Always singing and bringing so much joy and laughter to the patients and fellow Co-workeres. In my opinion she deserves 10 DAISY Awards for her endless dedication to all of us here at Saint Michael Medical Center.

Very helpful, hands on, she goes above and beyond. Exceptional all around charge nurse. Very good charge nurse and she goes above and beyond.  Selfless to all, creates a strong team with her positive attitude.

Gemma is an extraordinary RN. She is the epitome of what a nurse should be. The third floor medical is very blessed to have her. She is the glue that holds the third floor together as a unit. She is a very conscientious nurse. She makes sure all patients are well taken care of and their concerns are addressed promptly.  When times are tough with short staffing, she is able to get people to come to work. Her coworkers willingly sign up to work extra when she asks them because she is very pleasant to work with. She is a charge nurse, so you know that the patients and their families and staff are well taken care of. She goes around and asks if nurses and nursing assistants have taken their breaks. She makes sure that they take it. She even helps nurses pass their meds and helps nursing assistants with patient care. She truly helps lighten everyone’s load. What an absolute blessing in the workplace! Gemma is very impressive and truly one of a kind of a nurse. She is the reason why people find 3rd Floor Medical a very good and enjoyable place to work. She is the magic of her unit. Nowhere at St. Michael Medical Center would you find an exact likeness of her. She is loved and very well-appreciated by her coworkers, and patients like her a lot, too. One patient with a smiling face once said, "Oh, here comes the singing nurse.” Yes, she sings to the patients, and at times, she makes them sing along with her. Gemma makes the unit lively and positive. Her positive attitude and liveliness are contagious. When times are tough and challenging in the unit, I just say, “Never fear, Gemma is here!”  Gemma is truly a gem in her unit! She deserves this long time due acknowledgement of the DAISY Award.
