Genesis stepped into the role of manager during a time of uncertainty when our previous manager left unexpectedly. Genesis didn’t hesitate to step up and lead. She made a choice rooted in compassion and to ensure we were not left without direction, support, or a familiar face. Her willingness to take on more responsibility during a difficult transition speaks volumes about her dedication to her team and to patient care. 

Genesis’ reliability is one of the qualities that make her a standout nurse leader. She is always reachable when needed, whether it’s a quick question, emotional support after a tough assignment, or guidance navigating a challenging situation. Her accessibility creates trust and gives a deep sense of security to the team.

She rounds regularly, not just to check up on us but to genuinely see how we’re doing, to give a listening ear, and her calm, grounded demeanor helps bring clarity even on the hardest days. Her support is steady and sincere. She acknowledges our challenges and makes each of us feel valued and important.

Genesis protects the culture of the float pool and strives to make sure we are connected, supported, and thriving. She didn’t just take on a title; she stepped into a role that keeps us together, stronger, and proud of what we do. Genesis embodies what a DAISY Nurse Leader should be.
