She is an attentive, efficient, friendly, and genuinely compassionate nurse. She treated my modest and overwhelmed mother with dignity and great care.
My 82-year-old mother had a Whipple Surgery for her pancreatic cancer. After two days in the SICU, she was transferred to the general floor as a second patient in a room. Typically, my elderly mother would be very upset and overwhelmed, but then Genevieve walked into the room and lit it up with her friendly, amazing smile; she had my mother instantly at ease. My mother was lucky to have Genevieve 3 days in a row. She is an attentive, efficient, friendly, and genuinely compassionate nurse. She treated my modest and overwhelmed mother with dignity and great care. Attentive to the fact that my mother's bed was literally facing the open doorway, Genevieve always made sure to close the curtain to offer my mother privacy during nursing assessments and wound checks. She made taking care of patients in tight space seems easy, and her professionalism and ability to "figure it out as she went along" was reassuring and comforting to my stressed-out mother facing a life-threatening situation.

I am a family doctor who has spent decades staffing hospital services. Never have I ever encountered a nurse like Genevieve. She sets the standard: incredibly competent, incredibly efficient without ever getting the sense that she's rushing her tasks. Smart, so so so smart. Friendly, so very caring and compassionate. Flexible. Able to quickly find solutions to novel situations.

I don't have enough words to express my gratitude and awe. Genevieve has found her calling, and her patients, her hospital, and the world are lucky to have a nurse like her.
