Geoffrey Ray, BSN, RN

Getting to know Geoff has been easy due to his always welcoming demeanor and amazing teamwork. I’d like to nominate Geoff for the compassionate care he continues to show his patients – and of utmost recognition, his team members! While Geoff is always great with his interactions, I got to witness the compassion Geoff has while I was the charge nurse in the ED one day. I was called to a care area for an irate/aggressive patient. Geoff was not the primary nurse, in fact, the primary nurse (who was very much pregnant) was in the room with the patient. What was phenomenal to see was that Geoff took it upon himself to stand near the room to check on his co-worker, the situation and stood there for all and any needs. He was willing to get delayed in his own duties to ensure a safe environment for his coworker. I have no doubt that Geoff would have stepped in in any way needed to ensure safe interactions occurred for this coworker and the patient alike. Geoff is an exceptional teammate, a great guy, and the epitome of a great nurse who consistently demonstrates the values we share here at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
