George is very active and self-driven. He exhibits a ‘go-getter’ attitude.
George has been nominated every month since the inception of the DAISY Award at Mount Sinai; he has been nominated by patients, family members, staff, and students. George approaches each person he encounters with the same level of care and genuine compassion that is reflected in this nomination. The nomination that stood out this month was from a student:
As I shadowed George during my clinical rotation, he immediately inspired me. George is very active and self-driven. He exhibits a ‘go-getter’ attitude. I love how involved he is with each patient. He explains to the patient what care he will provide, and he educates them both verbally and provides visual examples. George brings light to each room he steps into. He was not phased by the questions I asked him and answered each with a detailed explanation, ensuring I understood the importance of the care provided to the patients, including the underlying pathophysiology related to it. His mission is to improve the quality of life for each patient he touches. He delivers the same amount of passion to the patients and their families.
