George was the first nurse we met as out mother was transferred from the ER to the ICU. George was organized, efficient and explained everything he was going to do. Our family was still in shock with the devastating events of the day and our mother's critical condition. There was one hour left on George's 12 hour shift and he received a new admission. That could frazzle anyone, but George handled it beautifully and calmly. We were impressed with George right away. George took care of mom several times during her 18 day stay. We were always pleased when George took care of mom. He was professional and competent and exemplified teamwork.
Mom was transferred out of the ICU on day 18 at about 3:30pm. Our dear mother passed away 4 hours later. When George learned of our mother's passing, he came to our room and extended his condolences to our family. What a kind thing to do. I will never forget that George went to the extra mile for our family to say "I'm sorry"; that was impressive. George was the first nurse we saw in the ICU and the last one to say how sorry he was for our loss and good-bye to us. He provided a very nice closure for our family.

Thank you, George, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
