Georgia Berry, ADN, RN
I would like to nominate Georgia for demonstrating exemplary nursing care during her management of a DCD patient tonight with LOPA. Throughout the shift, she consistently went above and beyond to ensure her patient AND family received timely and appropriate care.
Due to certain medications not being available in the location her patient was in, she made repeated trips to multiple different units to obtain critical medications, all while continuing to manage the many demands of this complex patient assignment. For the majority of her shift, she was constantly in motion, balancing urgent tasks efficiently and without hesitation.
What I loved the most was her attitude throughout the entire process; she kept her awesome smile and positive attitude and remained focused despite the intensity of the situation. She also has strong friendships she has built with nurses across other units, allowing her to quickly access resources and advocate for her patient’s needs.
Her dedication, teamwork, resourcefulness, and commitment to patient care were truly exceptional and deserving of recognition. I am extremely proud of her always and forever.

Georgia went the extra mile to care for a patient's family who were from out of state. The patient and her mother were from another country. The patient had suffered a sudden and devastating illness. The patient was very emotional throughout her stay and benefitted greatly from her mother's presence.
The patient's mother had limited resources and no way to do laundry at the hospital. Georgia recognized this, then kindly and tactfully offered her assistance. The patient's mother gladly accepted Georgia's offer.
She brought the patient's mother's laundry to her house for the next 2 weeks, allowing the patient's mother to stay at the bedside to support her daughter. This act of kindness speaks volumes regarding Georgia's deep sense of empathy for patients and families in her care.
