Georgia was caring for a patient with Down syndrome who had always lived with his parents. During his stay, his condition worsened, and the difficult decision to transition to comfort care was made.

Georgia learned the patient’s father was an AMC patient and would be unable to visit his son. She made numerous calls to coordinate care so the father could be transferred to GFH to say goodbye. Thanks to her unwavering persistence and compassionate advocacy, the family was able to be together during the patient’s final hours.

This advocacy was impressive to witness and had an impact on everyone. What Georgia did was nothing short of extraordinary.
