Georgia is a humble nurse who deserves this DAISY Award for providing dignity, respect and loving care for her patients and families in the Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Unit. Georgia doesn't expect praise or acknowledgement, she only wants to give to her patients and families the knowledge, care and support they need and deserve.
Recently we received a letter from a 10 year old girl who has Spina Bifida; in her testimonial, she mentions her nurse Georgia who she has known since she was a baby and acknowledges that Georgia really cares.
Georgia regularly goes above and beyond to insure that families receive the medical attention and resources they need but also the emotional support, many times she has been referred to by families as their "lifesaver".
