A few weeks ago my mother-in-law was admitted to WH for a TIA, after further testing she was discharged to home to follow up with PCP. Geralyn Susko, RN made a post-hospital call to my mother-in-law and noticed that her words were garbled and weren't making sense. Geralyn immediately called my husband and explained the situation, which allowed my husband to contact his mother and call an ambulance. Her quick insight and recognition of possible stroke symptoms allowed my mother-in-law to receive immediate treatment for TIA and prevent further complications. It is this high quality of nursing and caring that makes Excela Health an outstanding example of what nursing is truly about.
We can't thank her enough for her intervention that day which prevented my mother in law from becoming another stroke statistic. Her actions made an extreme difference in someone's life.
