I awoke from my hernia repair surgery and was fortunate to have Gerard there to help return me to a degree of normalcy. The meaningful difference was his great compassion and care for my well-being. He sensed as I spoke that my mouth was dry and asked if I needed water, which he brought to me. He spoke and engaged me in conversation as I recovered from anesthesia. I believe Gerard shows not only a high degree of medical care but also emotional care. This combination makes for a great professional. The Cleveland Clinic should be proud to have Gerard on staff.
