I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer 20 months ago. Gerlinde became my home health care nurse and I couldn't be any happier! You see I went through many different emotions during this journey, even contemplated suicide. This extraordinary nurse, not only kept me positive but helped me beat this 100%. She not only showed extraordinary empathy but would sit and suggest options that I didn't know existed. She kept me strong when I was weak, made me laugh when I just wanted to cry and when doctor's offices would drop the ball over and over again she would fix the problem. Just when I was going to be in excruciating pain for the rest of my life she came up with a combination that completely cured my aches and pains. She truly is an amazing nurse who really cares about her patients. I hate nurses, hospitals, and all doctors, but I absolutely LOVE this lady! She kept me positive through this mess when I really didn't care what the outcome was going to be.
I not only feel that I received the most professional care, but I also learned to be kinder to all nurses. I will turn 53 soon and I truly owe it all to Gerlinde. I love to read and educate myself every day and have to admit, that I learned more from this extraordinary professional in 2 months then I did in 4 years of high school.
I not only consider her the most educated nurse I've ever met, but I now call her my friend. I look forward to the days she comes to fill my pain pump because we figure things out together and when she leaves I miss her. I also feel that every visit is like taking a really cool college course, she is the most brilliant women I've ever met! Gerlinde truly saved my life.
