He is nearly impossibly polite when dealing with any situation and will always advocate for others to ensure they receive the care and dignity they deserve.
Gerry has been a nurse for many years, traveled from the Philippines, and is always available to help and provide access to his deep well of knowledge in all areas of nursing and does so with enthusiasm and a smile on his face.
Gerry can handle any patient with any personality and consistently wins over even the most difficult patients. Gerry approaches every situation with the most caring and empathetic manner, and he can find the sunshine in even the darkest of days.
Gerry does not have a dishonest bone in his body. He brings such a refreshing level of genuine practice into the ICU. He will always admit when he's wrong and inspires others to look at these moments as opportunities to learn and better themselves.
His laughter is contagious and always brings a smile to the faces of staff, patients, and family members. This nurse is the embodiment of honoring the dignity of other patients. He is nearly impossibly polite when dealing with any situation and will always advocate for others to ensure they receive the care and dignity they deserve.
Gerry doesn't let his personal beliefs affect his practice of being culturally sensitive to patients and their families. Gerry helps other international nurses and is an important part of that community that has become so important for our nursing staff here at EMMC. The transition to working here in the States can be overwhelming and Gerry often takes time to offer a helping hand, even if only as an ear to listen, and will help international nurses adapt to our culture, which can be intimidating for some.
Words cannot begin to describe how much better off this hospital is with Gerry working here. He handles any assignment with grace and will always have a smile on his face. He is someone whose attitude is one we should all strive to emulate. I hope this recognition will show him how much we value him as a teammate.
