Dr. Mallei is always looking out for her students and forever has their best interests at heart. She always makes time for her students, recalls personal stories to make her lectures and classes more meaningful and fulfilling, and truly provides the best teaching and nursing skills to my peers and me.

I would like to recognize my professor, Dr. Mallei, for the profound impact she has had on my nursing education and personal growth. As a nursing student balancing school, clinicals, and parenting, it can be overwhelming at times, but this professor has consistently created a supportive and encouraging environment. Dr. Mallei goes above and beyond simply teaching content.
She takes the time to ensure students really understand and feel confident in their knowledge and skills. Her patience, compassion, and willingness to help have made a significant difference in my ability to grow as a future nurse. Dr. Mallei treats every student with respect and understanding, and she leads as a powerful role model demonstrating what compassionate and patient-centered care looks like.
What stands out the most is her ability to make students feel seen and capable, even in moments of self-doubt. With her guidance and encouragement, I feel much more confident and prepared entering this field. Dr. Mallei truly embodies the qualities of an exceptional nurse educator, and I am extremely grateful to be her student and have her as my advisor as well.

Doctor Mallei is a wonderful teacher and, more importantly, a great person. She was patient, kind, understanding, and clear about each and every expectation she had in our class. Her love of caring for the older adult population is infectious, and I really enjoyed hearing her experiences. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to have Dr. Mallei as a teacher and would not hesitate to go to her for advice. Curry is lucky to have her.
She really pushes for underrepresented minorities! She is the person you can come to when you're down, when you need to share good or bad news, and for advice. I would like to thank my educator for everything she has done for me since the beginning of my nursing journey. Not only was she my professor, but she's also been my advisor throughout my four years. She has guided me in which classes to choose, what to expect, and how to prepare. Additionally, she has served as a mentor. I remember one specific time I felt so overwhelmed with clinical that I didn't know who to turn to. I felt safe and comfortable enough to trust her with my experiences. As a nursing student, having that type of reassurance is incredibly important. Her presence and encouragement have made a meaningful difference in my growth.

The way she teaches is so effective and understandable for me. Her smile and warmth that she brings into the class make you enjoy being there. Dr. Mallei is my advisor as well as my professor for Prep Health Care Professions (Nursing 1000). Nursing is a difficult major and line of work, but Dr. Mallei makes the class worth having. She understands that the class covers a lot of information, but also that we need to know it for the future as we move forward in the course. She doesn't rush you but lets you know what's expected of you. As she teaches, you can see that she cares and wants students to fully understand and ask questions because others could have the same ones.

This nurse educator is truly one of the best and very understanding when it comes to nursing and helping students. Since she is an alumna of Curry College herself, she relates to us a lot and does her best to ensure all of her students have the resources they need to pass. She continuously supports us no matter what the outcome is for each student. She truly deserves this award.

I had Dr. Mallei for two classes last semester: Pathophysiology and Health Assessment. She was amazing in both. She truly cares for her students and wants to see them succeed. She is an amazing professor and an even better person. Pathophysiology was a very challenging class, but with her support and teaching, I was able to successfully pass. She made class light and easy with her fun and bubbly personality despite covering challenging material. She always was very real with her students and held us accountable for our learning while also being there to help in every way she could. I felt very comfortable going to her with any problems I was having in class, and her support was able to get me through. I truly miss having her as a professor and wholeheartedly think she deserves recognition for everything she does for the nursing students in this program. She embodies a mother figure, which was very comforting because while doing her job, she was also looking out for us and giving us everything we needed: extra help, emotional support, comfort, and stability in and out of the classroom.

I have had the great pleasure of having Dr. Mallei as my Nursing 1000 professor this semester. Over the past few months, I have developed both confidence and understanding in and out of the classroom thanks to Dr. Mallei. She has been an encouraging voice and a supporter of mine even when I did not believe in myself. It is for all of these reasons that Dr. Mallei will be a positive, influential light in my future nursing career.

I had the privilege of having Dr. Mallei during my first-semester medical-surgical course, along with a simulation lab and an older adults course. From the very beginning of my nursing education, she has been a steady source of encouragement and guidance. She connects with her students on a personal level, and despite the rigor of an accelerated program, she has been a light throughout the journey. Dr. Mallei is a constant, judgment-free resource for her students. She fosters a safe space where we feel comfortable seeking advice, asking questions, and expressing our fears. As I approach the completion of this accelerated program, I have experienced uncertainty and self-doubt. Dr. Mallei has reassured me that these feelings are normal and has reminded me that I will find my path. Her enthusiasm, compassion, and passion for nursing education shine in everything she does. She not only teaches us how to be competent nurses but also how to be confident, resilient, and compassionate professionals. For these reasons and so many more, I wholeheartedly believe Dr. Mallei is deserving of the DAISY Award.
