Gertrude Rodrigues, RN

Gertrude is always fighting for her patients' well-being. She was courageous, resourceful, and proactive in pursuing the stabilization of her patient in the emergency room prior to transferring them to the OR for limb salvage vascular intervention. Her patient was in rapid a-fib with a rate of 170s and unstable. Despite a plan by many to send the patient up, she felt it essential to reach out to cardiology and intensive care to get a care plan in motion to stabilize her patient prior to discharge. Her efforts resulted in immediate attention to her patient who underwent direct current cardioversion in the ER which resulted in conversion to normal sinus rhythm and a stable patient for transfer. She showed courage in the face of adversity which ultimately reduced her patient's risk and instilled confidence and trust in her by her patient and the medical team. Thank you, Gertrude!
