Gesenia Carmona has demonstrated outstanding leadership and dedication to patient safety throughout her 20-year career at Mount Sinai Hospital. She led the implementation of RF- and X-ray-detectable products during vaginal deliveries by collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to standardize the process across labor rooms. Her additional initiatives, including standardized delivery and C-section kits, as well as emergency preparedness workflows, have improved efficiency, infection prevention, and patient outcomes.
