Gheron is an exceptional nurse to our tiniest patients as well as a wonderful colleague to all. She is always willing to help without being asked. She cares for her patients as if they’re her own. Gheron goes above and beyond her duties and exceeds expectations. In any situation with critically ill babies, she is skillful while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor. Parents continually raise her, for her outstanding care and compassion. She is great with all parents, especially those who may be challenging. She appreciates the fact of how scary it is for the parents to have their baby in the NICU. Her calming presence comforts the family and helps them feel safe to leave their baby in her hands. Fellow colleagues will tell you that she is the go-to resource person. She is a wonderful mentor to our newest nurses and student nurses. Gheron is always willing to orient students and take new staff under her wings. Oftentimes, when another unit needs help placing an IV in a baby, she will volunteer to do the job. Everyone will agree that Gheron is always positive and happy to be at work. Gheron is truly an Extraordinary Nurse, and we are so glad to have her working in our NICU!
