My husband and I would like to recognize Gianna Tecce for the extraordinary care she provided to our son during his three-month stay in the NICU.
During one of the most frightening and overwhelming times of our lives, Gianna was a constant source of comfort, compassion, and strength. She cared for our son not only with exceptional clinical skill, but with genuine love and attentiveness. She treated him as if he were her own, always noticing the smallest details, advocating for his needs, and celebrating even the tiniest milestones with us.
What stood out most was the way she cared for our entire family. She took the time to explain procedures, answer questions, and reassure us when fear and uncertainty felt unbearable. Her calm presence and kindness helped us feel seen, supported, and never alone. She gave us hope on days when hope was hard to find.
Because of Gianna, our NICU journey was filled with moments of humanity, trust, and compassion. We will always be grateful for the impact she had on our son's life and on our family. She truly embodies everything the DAISY Award represents.
