igi stayed with us until my wife received her medications, and the reactions went down.
Gigi received three DAISY nominations from patients and their families:
The first nomination was from a patient’s spouse, who said that Gigi made the patient comfortable and kept a great line of communication with the patient and her spouse going during the patient’s stay. When the patient experienced an allergic reaction, “Gigi stopped everything she was doing to assist my wife. She reacted quickly but so calmly and never left my wife’s side, calling more medical staff in until my wife received everything she needed. My wife and I were so scared, but Gigi stayed with us until my wife received her medications, and the reactions went down. Even after that, Gigi continued to check on my wife letting us both know that everything was going to be ok. GiGi showed us so much compassion, and her bedside manner was amazing. Even after her shift, she checked on my wife before going home.”

The second patient said Gigi, “was very patient, coming into my room and explaining everything that was going on. I was in a lot of pain, so I wasn’t very nice. She made sure that I was very comfortable and was always very understanding. I could tell when she interacted with me that it wasn’t just a job, she really cared.” The patient concluded her nomination by saying, “I told Gigi I would never forget her.”

The third patient’s nomination stated that Gigi was an excellent nurse who always explained everything and was knowledgeable and communicative. The patient said, “My whole family loved her; she was not just a robotic nurse and was engaging and involved. I always looked forward to the days she cared for me.” The patient emphasized that Gigi is an extraordinary nurse and that the hospital should feel so lucky to have her.”
Gigi, thank you for the consistent, incredible, and meaningful difference you make to your patients every day!
