Giles provided an unexplainable level of comfort to me during my darkest and most painful experience in life.
My stay began following surgery and ended 3 days later. While I was greeted and treated most respectfully by everyone from the entry registration desk to the wheelchair escort out of the hospital, one person stuck out like a sore thumb by displaying the highest level of expertise and professionalism. Far and away, above any of my expectations.

Nurse Giles was my nighttime nurse on both the evenings of my stay. Giles is by far the most attentive and outstanding healthcare professional I have ever received care from. Not only did Giles perform his duties as a nurse to the fullest extent, but he also went over and above in ways that are difficult to express in words. He made me comfortable that every want or need that I had, or possibly thought I might have, was in his capable hands. He ensured me that my focus was to be on resting and healing. I have been in sales most of my 35-year career and a sales manager for a large portion of that. My responsibilities have included finding and hiring people with the qualities that Giles displayed to me most naturally. Listening, understanding, caring, and acting with a total sense of compassion and responsibility are just a few of those qualities. It would be an injustice for me to try to hire him away from his profession - lucky for Central DuPage Hospital.

I could write pages and pages of the goodness I saw and received from Nurse Giles. His words, his actions, his attitude, his overall display of confidence and care appear to be a natural part of his person - even if somehow he was faking it. He provided an unexplainable level of comfort to me during my darkest and most painful experience in life. Nurse Giles explained that his mother guided him sternly toward this career. He is a tribute to her and her direction. I can only imagine that she is a wonderful person and an even better mother. I hope she has an opportunity to read this letter, and know just how proud she should be of her son. I pray that my two teenage boys grow up in the light of someone like Giles.

Thank you to the entire staff that helped me at Central DuPage Hospital late in February 2021 but a huge and special thank you to Giles. I hope I never need a nurse’s care like that again but hope I can find you when I do.
