Gill Gull, RN

Being admitted for heart surgery has to be one of the scariest times of my life. As a fairly resilient person both personally and professionally, this was completely challenging as I found myself feeling both vulnerable and emotional. Tears would flow freely for no reason as I struggled to comprehend all I had been through. Until Gill came along! She oozed compassion and kindness. She would listen to me, sit with me, and recognised my distress. She knew she couldn’t fix it, but made me feel cared for and safe so that I could cry and express how I felt. As a nurse, I can only describe Gill as a phenomenal nurse who made me feel stronger emotionally each day. Gill's empathy and kindness have made a huge impact on me and my recovery. There are no words to describe how she’s made me feel. She is one very special nurse who sprinkles fairy dust everywhere she goes.
