Gina was the nurse on duty the night I was admitted to the ICU from the ER. I was tired, confused, and most importantly, panicked. Gina and her team immediately and comprehensively addressed all of my physical and psychological needs, leading me to feel I was putting myself into very competent hands. All of the OSF Mission Partners impressed me with their competence and compassion, but what made Gina stand out was her extra effort while off duty.

Following her shift, Gina went home and continued to research an incident wherein I had experienced a severely negative psychological reaction to a new medication earlier that day. She immediately contacted the nurse and doctor on duty that evening in order to alert them of the risk of continued use of the medication. This impressed me so much and honestly probably saved my life. I will always be grateful to Gina and her team.
