Even two years later, her compassion and presence during that experience stand out as a powerful example of what it means to be an extraordinary nurse.
Gina exemplifies the highest standards of nursing, and there are countless reasons why she represents the true spirit of this recognition. She exemplifies the highest standards of nursing, and there are countless reasons why she represents the true spirit of this recognition.

Gina has dedicated 25 years of service to Fisher-Titus, and I have had the privilege of working with her for the past nine. During my time as an ICU nurse, I was fortunate to have Gina as my preceptor when I first joined the organization. From the beginning, she demonstrated compassion, dedication, thoroughness, and exceptional clinical knowledge.

Gina consistently supports not only the patients under her direct care, but also any patient or colleague who needs assistance. I have witnessed her advocate for patients as if they were members of her own family—advocacy that speaks volumes about her character and the level of care we all hope our loved ones receive.

In her current role as House Supervisor, Gina continues to shine. She manages numerous responsibilities throughout each shift and does so with professionalism and grace. Those who work with her know that she communicates clearly, stays focused on patient-centered priorities, and strives to ensure that operations run smoothly.

Whether she is addressing census concerns, staffing challenges, or supply issues, Gina handles every situation with calm efficiency. Staff feel supported when Gina is supervising because they know she will do whatever is needed to ensure a safe and successful day.

My nomination is also personal. In 2024, when my father was admitted to the medical-surgical unit and developed significant pain, Gina made a point to round on him to ensure he was comfortable and receiving appropriate care. Because I was out of state, she kept in close communication with me, providing reassurance and updates during a very difficult time.

Later that day, when his condition worsened and he required transfer to the ICU and eventually another facility, Gina remained a constant source of support. Even two years later, her compassion and presence during that experience stand out as a powerful example of what it means to be an extraordinary nurse.

Gina is not only a highly skilled clinician but a true role model. Her commitment, empathy, and unwavering dedication to patients and staff make her profoundly deserving of the DAISY Award.
