Gina Treska, RN, BSN.
Gina is one of the most caring and compassionate people I have met. She truly cares for everyone and goes above and beyond to provide a welcoming/warm environment. As a co-worker, I can always depend on Gina to be there to support me without even having to ask.
Today, I was coming on for a night shift. Gina had completed the day shift and left the hospital. That day she had been caring for a CMO patient. At 2000, an hour after her shift had ended, Gina returned to the hospital with a pint of strawberry ice cream. Shocked to see Gina back at the hospital after her shift, I asked why she had returned. She shared that all day her patient had been wanting strawberry ice cream, but the hospital had none. Without looking for any recognition, on her off time she went out and purchased the patient who was CMO the ice cream he desired and drove back to the hospital to put it in the freezer for when the patient was awake.
