In Sept 2021 Ginger took care of me after delivering my son just before shift change. I began to have hemorrhaging complications and Ginger comforted me and explained everything that was happening. As I continued to bleed, she spoke to my husband and myself and advocated that she does one more sweep of my uterus. She explained that it may not help and that it may fix the bleeding, but it would be uncomfortable. Ginger did another sweep and removed retained tissue and the bleeding/clotting stopped! Ginger prevented me from a trip to the OR, she prevented me form needing a blood transfusion, and to be away from my newborn and husband. Ginger believed in me and interceded for me.

Fast-forward 18 months and it’s time to deliver my second son. I contacted Ginger throughout the week to see if she would be available to deliver our second son. She was off Thursday, after going to her supervisor and trying to trade shifts. Our water broke and when we checked into CSM L&D they knew not only my name but knew of my last birth story and said, “we’re calling Ginger in and she’s on her way to be your nurse.” This labor was very different and fast. Ginger guided me through our birth preferences and anticipated my needs before I verbalized them. Because I could trust Ginger, I was able to relax and focus on laboring, and because she’s a great nurse, she anticipated and met my needs, those of my husband, the doctor, and our newborn son! She made this birth experience feel like everyone was family.
