Ginger Mullins, BSN, RN

I am writing to recognize Ginger Mullins for the extraordinary compassion, dedication, and excellence she brings to nursing every single day.

Ginger is an exceptional nurse who truly exemplifies the spirit of nursing in every aspect of her work. One of her most remarkable qualities is her unwavering positivity. She consistently arrives at work with a smile, creating an uplifting atmosphere for both her colleagues and her patients. Her warm, cheerful demeanor is contagious and helps foster an environment where people feel supported, cared for, and valued.

Ginger's dedication to her patients extends far beyond providing excellent clinical care. She goes above and beyond to ensure that every patient feels seen, heard, and genuinely cared for throughout their experience. One of the many ways she does this is by taking the time to pray with patients and their families before procedures whenever they welcome it.

One experience that perfectly illustrates Ginger's compassion involved a returning patient who had been assigned a different preoperative nurse. When Ginger recognized the patient's name, she intentionally sought her out simply to ask if she would like to pray together before going back for her procedure. The following day, while I was rounding on patients, this patient specifically shared how meaningful that moment had been. She was deeply touched that Ginger remembered her and took the time to come see her simply to offer comfort and prayer. It made her feel truly cared for.

This is just one example of the countless ways Ginger touches the lives of her patients.

Her extraordinary care is consistently reflected in our patient experience comments. It is not uncommon for Ginger to be recognized by name at least once every week, with patients expressing gratitude for her kindness, compassion, and exceptional nursing care. These comments are a testament to the lasting impact she has on the people she serves.

In addition to providing outstanding patient care, Ginger serves as an incredible role model for her colleagues. She consistently demonstrates professionalism, empathy, integrity, and an exceptional work ethic. She willingly stays late when help is needed, comes in on her days off to support the team, steps into the charge nurse role whenever staffing is short, and does it all without complaint. She leads by example, always placing the needs of her patients, coworkers, and department ahead of her own.

Ginger embodies everything the nursing profession strives to be. She inspires those around her through both her actions and her attitude, creating a culture of compassion, teamwork, and excellence.

I wholeheartedly believe Ginger Mullins is one of the finest nurses I have ever had the privilege of working alongside. Her positivity, unwavering commitment to her patients, exceptional clinical skills, and servant-hearted leadership make her profoundly deserving of the DAISY Award.
