Ginny was nominated by a co-worker who was moved by Ginny's genuine love and compassion for a patient who is nonverbal and can only move his hands well enough to operate his wheelchair. Ginny noticed the patient was becoming more and more withdrawn. He had been in the hospital for months, and was unable to get up from the bed or leave the room for several weeks. As soon as the patient was able, Ginny made sure to put him in his wheelchair as often as she could. Once he was able to leave the room, he became Ginny's shadow, following her everywhere and waiting outside her other patients' rooms for her to complete her tasks. Once the patient was able to go outside, Ginny ensured the patient went outside everyday, even though sometimes it meant staying into the next shift. Ginny developed games to play with this patient: Guess which elevator is coming first, and race to the room. Ginny has had a huge impact on this patient and his family's life.
