Gintare Sirtautaite, BSN, RN, CCRN

I would like to recognize Gintare, an ICU nurse, who has provided exceptional care to my mom during her 60+ day stay in the ICU. My mom is a quadriplegic on a ventilator and is unable to speak, which makes attentive, compassionate nursing absolutely critical. Gintare took the time to truly understand how my mom communicates – quickly recognizing that she clicks when she needs something. This level of attentiveness brought comfort to my mom and our family. She constantly checks in, provides thoughtful updates when we arrive, and keeps us informed of any changes, always with kindness and clarity. Her clinical skill is quite remarkable. Recently, she noticed abdominal distension related to a high-speed administration and promptly brought it to the physician’s attention, demonstrating strong advocacy and keen clinical judgment. In addition, Gintare has made an effort to learn Spanish to better communicate with her Spanish-speaking patients and families, which speaks volumes about her dedication and empathy. Gintare’s genuine care, vigilance, and professionalism exemplify nursing excellence. Her compassion has made an incredibly difficult journey more bearable, and her level of care truly deserves recognition.
