I would like to take a few minutes to express the gratitude and joy my wife and I feel toward one of your best nurses, Giovana. She made our stay feel like we were home. She is a great example of going above and beyond her duties. She answered all of our doubts and wanted to make sure that we knew what we needed to know. My wife and baby could not have asked for a better nurse. Thank you, Giovana! We hope you’re still here for our next baby! I would like to take the opportunity to appreciate everyone who helped my baby arrive safely in the labor and delivery. And also to say thank you to the staff in the mother and baby unit for having looked after my daughter and me. In particular, I would like to nominate one nurse for the DAISY Award, for her dedication, careful concern, and warmth, Giovana. Giovana physically, emotionally, and mentally supported me through my most vulnerable time. I want to thank her for recognizing the fear in my eyes and sharing the funny stories in her life to take my mind off of my worries. When I needed to get an emergency blood transfusion, I was so scared, but her attention and kindness made me feel relaxed and calm enough to trust that it was going to work. Though we only met a couple of days, her positivity and genuine belief in my ability made me feel strong and empowered. My family and I feel blessed. We want to thank her for always keeping the space comfortable and peaceful. The way she spoke, reacted, and moved around the room kept things this way. We will never forget
