As a former director of Critical Care, I think I am good at assessing character. Gisel showed the characteristics of a kind, compassionate nurse. My father was dying, and he wanted to die at home. Gisel was there at every turn, helping to manage the transfer of my father, while compassionately caring for his needs, educating and supporting my sisters and mother. Bringing us things to make us comfortable with a gentle touch on the shoulder, a hug for my sister and always treating my father was respect. One cannot summarize in a paragraph her compassion and intellect. She will be in our memories for a lifetime.
