Nurse Guisi was responsible for us for a couple of days, after our son was transferred from ICU after brain surgery. When he arrived on the unit, she took great care of our son (2 years old) with lots of love and patience. She gained his trust quickly. For example, when he ran out of bubbles, Giusi found new ones. She really took her time with him whenever possible. Our son who usually is very shy and doesn’t speak with strangers at all, allowed her without any hesitation to take his temperature, connect him to the monitoring equipment, or change the bandage… He usually didn’t allow this. We were so relieved that Guisi won his trust. This helped to make our time on the unit as comfortable as possible.

Guisi was present during a conversation with the surgeon. She saw my despair and uncertainty because of the amount of information. Before her shift ended, she came back to me to let me know that she had contacted the clinic professor to talk about the latest results. She wanted to take away my worries. This helped me so much. Guisi is an Extraordinary Nurse. She truly shines during her work. She takes great care of the kids with so much love and concern for their well-being. We are so unbelievably grateful for all Guisi did for us and will miss her dearly.
