I am a 52-year-old longtime Kirkland resident living with late-stage systemic sclerosis and interstitial lung disease. I arrived at the Bella Bottega Emergency Department experiencing shortness of breath and concern for a possible blood clot. I later learned that I was critically ill, with oxygen levels between 60% and 70% for over two days due to a severe lung infection. In this life-threatening and deeply distressing situation, Glamour’s care was extraordinary.

From our initial interaction, she treated me with exceptional kindness, dignity, and professionalism. Her calm and steady presence instilled immediate trust and reassurance. She communicated clearly and thoughtfully, ensuring I understood my condition without adding to my anxiety. She remained highly attentive to both my clinical and emotional needs, promptly involving her supervisor and physician colleagues to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.

Glamour’s actions reflected not only clinical expertise, but a profound commitment to patient-centered care. She approached my situation with both skill and humanity, prioritizing not only my medical stabilization but also my sense of safety and well-being during an extremely vulnerable time.

I have received outstanding care within the EvergreenHealth system for many years; however, this experience was truly exceptional. This is the first time I have submitted a DAISY Award nomination, and I do so with deep gratitude and respect.
