I have met several dedicated fellow nurses offering their countless commitments, patience and quality services as staff and part of this indescribable family. I have seen their grit in improving the quality of services in this profession. I have heard their motivations to which they offer their sacrifices. I have observed their cooperation in committing fineness with others. I have personally experienced their obedience to which it became their living legacy as dedicated members of a fruitful community. The above-mentioned characteristics will lead me to one exemplary staff whom I have encountered last month, she is in the person of Glenda Catapang, a registered nurse III, has been working in the areas of Employee Health Clinic, GP, Pediatric and OB Gynae and participated in some activities for quality improvement of the unit and other nursing related activities.
Her selflessness was the most important of all which I have encountered personally when I have given her a cover duty after her regular shift. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the evening clinic could not be covered due to sick leave. Once I approached her to support us, she highlighted that ".... of course, no problem, we can't leave the patients waiting or cancel them. Many have traveled a great distance". In that very moment, I have seen her perseverance in providing her selfless dedication to the hospital and to her field of work. She is a real definition of an employee who always does her best just to support her colleagues and attend to the needs of our patients. This is typical of her character: kind, supportive and a nurse who touches countless patients' lives with her care, attention, and dedication to the profession of nursing. Summing up the character of Glenda in a phrase? Her excellence in service is the success of our team.
