I wanted to let you know that I was just about ready to come see you this morning regarding R's care. However, last night his nurse Glenn Batich came in and took the time to listen, take notes, and most importantly care and show compassion for his patient and me. He was able to finally get his attending physician from the hospital to actually call R's urologist to come in this morning and see him and make the changes he needed to his medication.
This might not seem like a big deal, but I had been requesting this since Monday when they told me he was to be transferred to Astoria for PT. He also is the only person to actually care that he has complained of having stabbing pains in his ears and has yet to have them looked at. At the present time he has put in another request tonight for Drs. R and/or S to come tonight before he leaves.Correction, the doctor just came in and made an order to have his ears looked at.
Bottom line is this young man goes the extra mile to make sure his patients are receiving the best care he possibly can. He asks questions and does his best to explain everything so that even an elderly patient can understand. Glenn Batich is the best thing going on Winter Haven Hospital 1st Floor Street side. As a matter of fact, I'm considering buying him a Superman shirt!
I hope that he is recognized for his exceptional work ethic!
