Glenna showed the true meaning of being a nurse. She was caring for a patient who had recently been diagnosed with cancer. This patient was having uncontrolled nausea and pain. Glenna went out of her way to consult another physician (the hospitalist) and review the case. The hospitalist then talked with the surgeon and implemented orders for pain and nausea control. The patient was much more comfortable and then she passed peacefully a couple of days later. She really went above and beyond and showed amazing care and dedication to her patients.
