B has been in the PICU for almost 100+ days now and Gloria has been by her side since day one. That day was one of the most horrible times in our lives. As B has been fighting for her life, Gloria has been by our side helping us understand procedures and comforting not only us but B as well. Especially on the day of her intubation, B was very scared and asked for someone to hold her hand, Gloria was there to answer the request to comfort her with such a small gesture. Gloria is not just a great nurse but a wonderful person with a great personality and view of life with a beautiful soul. We feel and believe that she is not only B’s nurse but a friend. As we were not available while we recovered ourselves, she really stepped up and cared for our daughter as a mother would. She took it upon herself and made sure the simple things were getting included, like brushing her hair or making sure she had good hygiene by brushing her teeth and bathing her, even with extra love - she painted her toenails. Anytime we called to check on B she was always very nice, courteous, and patient to answer all of our questions without hesitation; she always gladly gave us updates. We thank GOD for helping us surround ourselves with people like Gloria.
