Gloria Greenwalt, ADN, RN

As a registered nurse with less than two years of experience, Gloria has already demonstrated an extraordinary blend of clinical excellence, leadership, curiosity, and professionalism that far exceeds what is expected of a new RN graduate. Her energy, initiative, and dedication have made her an invaluable asset to her service line, her colleagues, and the broader ambulatory nursing community.

From her first months as an RN, Gloria immersed herself in professional governance with passion and purpose. She quickly became an engaged, reliable voice within the Ambulatory Professional Governance Council, jumping in as a facilitator, helping to build momentum, enthusiasm, and participation across clinics. Through her warm presence and natural leadership, she has helped reenergize the council, ensuring that clinical nurses feel not only welcomed but genuinely excited to contribute.

Noticing the unique needs and perspectives of Medical Assistants within ambulatory care, Gloria also took the initiative to develop a Medical Assistant Unit-Based Council (UBC). This work has given MAs a dedicated platform for growth, communication, and shared decision-making, strengthening team cohesion and elevating practice across her service line. This achievement alone is remarkable for a nurse so early in her career — yet Gloria approached it with grace, strategy, and deep respect for the MA role.

Gloria has been a trusted resource for her entire service line. Colleagues frequently turn to her not only for clinical expertise but for her calm, thoughtful approach to problem solving. She is known for going above and beyond her role, stepping in to support clinics, offering guidance to clinical team members, and contributing meaningfully to initiatives that improve workflow and safety.

Despite being early in her RN nursing career, her maturity and reliability have made her an anchor for her teams, which is a testament to her character and her deep commitment to patient care.

Gloria is currently pursuing her BSN, demonstrating a clear commitment to lifelong learning and professional advancement. She eagerly seeks opportunities to increase her knowledge and consistently brings new insights back to her colleagues. Her dedication to academic and professional growth inspires others and reflects her desire to deliver the highest standard of care. She is always happy to share her story with students that would like to follow in her footsteps.

Gloria’s contributions have directly strengthened patient outcomes across ambulatory practices. By elevating governance participation, improving cross-disciplinary communication, and advocating for structured MA engagement, she has helped create a more coordinated, informed, and empowered clinical environment, one that directly benefits the safety, experience, and outcomes of the patients we serve.
