Gloria Pierce can be described as a compassionate leader. Compassionate leaders are more engaging. They build robust trusting relationships at all levels.
I haven’t met many people as passionate about the Nursing profession as Gloria Pierce. She strongly advocates for the highest caliber of care for all patients. If there are times when we do not meet standards, she quickly jumps into action to support, develop, and encourage our teams to learn from the opportunity and make immediate improvements. She is accessible and responsive to all. With focus on elevating practice, Glo takes time to deep dive into quality data. She always takes time to provide feedback (recognition and coaching) to ensure we are learning and growing along the way. This year, Glo led the introduction and implementation of “Good Catch” awards. This has been an opportunity to shine a light on the importance of speaking up when something doesn’t seem right.

Glo partners with associates at every level of the organization. I’ve observed Glo meeting with bedside nurses to assist with Clinical Ladder. She meets 1:1 with department supervisors and managers to ensure they understand quality metrics as well as action items to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. She openly communicates with executive leadership with full transparency. She is our “go-to” person for all things ODH and TJC related.

Gloria Pierce can be described as a compassionate leader. Compassionate leaders are more engaging. They build robust trusting relationships at all levels. They are viewed as being strong and inspire others to greater collaboration across the organization. They inspire people to feel more connected to one another as well as create an environment where associates feel a greater sense of commitment to the team and organization. It’s important to note that compassionate leadership is all about giving people what they need and not necessarily what they want. She can be tough when needed but always does so with love and compassion.
