Gloria is being nominated for The DAISY Award due to the exceptional manner in which she consistently demonstrates compassion to her patients. Many nurses are compassionate, but Gloria is in a league of her own having been nominated for an ICARE by her patients 7 times in the last year. This volume of recognition by her patients and their families is the best demonstration available to the level of compassion she shows daily. She has a unique way of putting patients who are preparing to go into surgery or other procedures at rest. As one of only three chemo certified nurses within the facility she demonstrates sensitivity to that population of patients and their families that is unparalleled. Gloria makes a special connection to her patients and families; makes them feel as comfortable as possible; is thoughtful and caring; takes the time to provide excellent education and clinical care. She is the perfect representation of the DAISY Award.
