Gloria is a mission-driven community health nurse who excels in adaptability, doing more with fewer resources, and innovation. As the only remaining community health nurse, Gloria not only maintained the schedule of the already busy department but also added new programs, such as a Cervical Cancer screening, to meet the needs of our uninsured and underserved community members. When attendance at the free screenings and flu shots increased, Gloria welcome all and smoothly accommodated everyone.

Ever mindful of the growing community needs, Gloria instituted a canned food drive in conjunction with the community flu shots and was able to donate hundreds of pounds of food to a variety of community food banks.

Gloria has been communicating with the Foundation for further diagnostic testing. Community members always express great satisfaction with the screenings, and anyone attending an educational event, such as a CPR class, can attest to Gloria's mastery of educational principles and adult learning. This is apparent in her informal educational contacts with community members at health fairs, festivals, and other community events.
