During this time, Gorettee was an angel for our babies and our family.
My twin daughters were born just shy of 31 weeks and were tiny, in need of respiratory support, and took a long time feeding from the bottle. They spent 98 days and 109 days in the NICU. Once they were moved from the more critical zone, they still took about 45+ days. We have another child and splitting our time between the hospital and home was really hard. We met Gorettee when she was substituting during another nurse’s shift, and experienced a level of care, nurturing, and skill that went into feeding our baby.

Gorettee was calm and able to feed full bottles. She took the time to share tips and teach us, all without rushing in a peaceful manner. She checked in to see how I was doing and encouraged me as a mom to go eat my lunch since I was pumping. The time period was absolutely crucial for our babies and family when both Twins were learning to breastfeed and bottle feed. During this time, Gorettee was an angel for our babies and our family. She took on both my babies as their primary nurse when she could. She gave me updates about their feedings and even advocated on my behalf for my babies when our family couldn’t be there. I can’t begin to describe how much Gorettee’s presence in my babies’ room meant for our family. I saw someone who loved what she did and took care of tiny humans with so much care, diligence, and love. She has a calming presence about her and I am forever grateful to Gorettee for helping us during the hardest months of our life.
