Grace was nominated by a peer in conjunction with her actions with another nurse on the unit. The person reported watching raw compassion fuse with skill, kindness and gentle teamwork to help a person through one of their darkest moments. There was no sense of competition, no element of winning or losing. There was only unconditional compassion. The person reported that “if I could capture the way these nurses were able to give such care in that moment, so focused on their patient and their needs, I would sprinkle it around and from those seeds would grow fields of DAISY nurses.
