I would like to nominate an extraordinary person/nurse who has been such a rock and blessing to my 93-year-old father, who was in to treat an infection. Grace immediately established a rapport with my father with her humor, cared to learn as much about him, and explained everything she was doing even though he has dementia.

She made sure the space was safe, and when my father had an explosive episode, she maintained a safe room and let the doctor know to get him to a leveled-out mood, so that care could continue. While this was happening, she not only attended to him but also came out and assured me that this was something the team was accustomed to managing.

She shows she is a teammate who also trusts those she works with, which puts me at ease. I am so grateful Samaritan's nurses like Grace work here for our community.
