I frequent the adult infusion treatment room at NECS in Scarborough Maine for hydration. I am in cancer remission but deal with GI symptoms that are nicely minimized by the care I receive. Grace is often assigned to take care of my IV hydration. Every time she takes care of me without fail she approaches me with a pleasant smile (yes, smile, which is apparent even through the mask) and a heartwarming welcome. She shows an authentic and genuine interest in how I have been feeling and how my health is progressing. Her gentle warmth and calming manner make my sharing feelings about my health very comfortable and a therapeutic experience. Grace authentically expresses a supportive understanding and acknowledgment of my condition and how I feel about my health. Her manner always provides me with a feeling of serenity and the knowledge that I am being well cared for.

Even more, Grace knows about what joys I find in life. She sincerely shows an interest in those joys and what is going on in my life by asking about them each time we meet. Grace has an incredibly gentle manner with inserting the IV and she creates a calm atmosphere that makes a painless experience. Grace sees to it that I can get whatever I need to be comfortable and returns often to check if I need anything. In fact, even when she is not my assigned RN for the day, Grace will often warmly welcome me and come to check on me in the middle of my infusion to see if I need a warm blanket.

In a nutshell, Grace is sincerely warm, caring, and supportive in a way that makes me feel well and benefits both my physical and emotional well-being. Grace is one of those few individuals who act on her sincerely caring and warm nature and who routinely and effectively supports all sides of my health. Grace is wonderfully effective as a nurse and truly a gem!
