Grace Williams, RN, BSN, PCCN

While in some of the worst back pain of my life, the one bright spot in my care experience at the U of I ER was Grace Williams. Of all my hospital trips in this life, I can tell you Grace’s softness, kindness, and relatability are unparalleled. She took time to get to know me and told me her life story, too. The world needs more nurses like Grace.

While at my ER stay, Grace heard it was my 10-year wedding anniversary. Without telling us, she ordered flowers and had a congratulatory card signed by all the ER staff. My wife and I were brought to tears. Why and how is Grace so kind to average people like my wife and me? I believe it’s who she really is as a person. A loving, compassionate nurse having a real-life positive impact on people like me going through extremely difficult times. The world needs more people like Grace Williams. She has forever left a positive impact on my wife and my life. Thank you, Grace!
