Gracie Hall, Staff RN

I want to commend Gracie Hall for her truly exceptional, compassionate care she provided to my wife during her labor at Pikeville Medical Center. From the moment she took over my wife's care for her shift,  Gracie made a special connection with both my wife and me. My wife was absolutely terrified, scared to death of the pain and intensity of labor. I feel Gracie sensed this and responded with genuine warmth, kindness, and a consistent positive attitude that helped to ease both of us.

Gracie went above and beyond by checking in on us constantly, at least once every 30 minutes, often more frequently, throughout her shift. Each time she entered the room, she had a pleasant demeanor, a warm smile, and an encouraging word. Gracie never seemed rushed or tired, even during what must have been a long shift. She even stayed late as she helped my wife get situated before shift change. Gracie took the time to listen to my wife's fears, answer our questions patiently, and explain what was happening in a clear, reassuring way.

Gracie provided excellent education, which helped us feel involved in our plan of care rather than overwhelmed or sidelined. Gracie's thoughtful presence made my wife feel so much more comfortable and supported during one of the most vulnerable times of her life. Gracie worked seamlessly with the rest of the healthcare team to ensure my wife's needs were met promptly, while always prioritizing my wife's well-being. Gracie's genuine kindness turned a frightening experience into one where my wife felt seen, cared for, and comfortable. Gracie truly embodies what extraordinary nursing looks like. She didn't just perform her duties; she made a profound difference in our lives during this special moment. We are so grateful for her care.
