Gracie was nominated by a Veteran's spouse. The Veteran had received some poor results from a test and was to return to the VA for early morning surgery. The wife wanted to stay close, but space was limited. Gracie was busy with her assignment but ensured that this Veteran and his wife were comfortable. This meant a great deal to them in their stressful situation. Gracie was honored to receive the DAISY Award and stated that what she did is how she cares for all of her patients.
