Gracie Herrea, LVN
Gracie, LVN, was nominated for her compassion and dedication to her team and patients. A fellow team member wrote:
"Gracie consistently demonstrates compassion, teamwork, and excellence in nursing. She is always willing to assist without hesitation, ensuring that both patients and the team receive the support they need.
During a busy shift, the intake of a new admission was timely, and without hesitation, she cleaned and cared for my patient, gathered supplies for a complex wound dressing, and drew morning labs for another patient. This allowed me to focus on a critically ill patient, knowing that my other patients were receiving excellent care.
Gracie frequently assists with difficult blood draws and specialized procedures, such as PleurX drain management. No matter how busy the unit becomes, she remains kind, dependable, and eager to help.
What makes Gracie truly exceptional is her selflessness. She recognizes the needs of the entire unit and proactively fills gaps before anyone even has to ask. Her clinical skills, positive attitude, and unwavering dedication to both patients and colleagues embody the spirit of the DAISY Award.
